Mercer Island’s Stroum Jewish Community Center (SJCC) will present a series of engaging Arts + Ideas events to foster connections and celebrate cultural diversity through the performing arts and conversation.
* Bestselling authors and James Beard Award-winning chefs Michael Solomonov and Steven Cook will discuss their new cookbook, “Zahav Home: Cooking for Friends & Family,” at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14.
* Comedy for Peace: “No Politics. Just Laughs” will take place at 7 p.m. on Nov. 16. A hilarious evening of stand-up will feature renowned comedians Erik Angel, Liz Glazer, Gibran Saleem and Paul Schissle. The event aims to unite Jewish, Muslim, Christian, straight and queer communities through humor and mutual understanding.
* Yeladim Yotzerim/ילדים יוצרים: October 7 Art Showcase by Israeli Children will be on view from noon to 4 p.m. on Nov. 24. Experience the powerful stories and heartfelt expressions of Israeli children responding to October 7 through their art. Admission is free. Recommended ages: 7+.
