Longtime Mercer Island resident, Judy Fergin, passed away at home in Cle Elum, WA on November 11. Judy was born in Miami, Florida to Constance and Ernest Cobb. She was raised by her maternal grandmother, Adela Garcia. She graduated from Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She worked as a dental hygienist before getting married and having two children. She was active in the Lutheran church and did volunteer work, including many years of volunteering at Overlake Hospital. She was an avid quilter and knitter. She loved to walk and walked nearly every day up until the last months of her life. She is preceded in death by her son, John Anderson. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Anderson) Schletz, her grandson, Josh Porter, and her brother, Ernie Cobb. In lieu of flowers, remembrances can be donated to the ACLU.
