The recently installed traffic signals located in the Town Center won’t be turned on until mid to late January.
The signals, which were scheduled to come online at the end of November, now won’t be on until the beginning of 2012.
According to the city, there was a problem with the electronic signal control system which required sending it back to the manufacturer to be fixed. The delay is pushing back the time when the lights can be turned on.
Once finished the signals will help improve traffic and pedestrian safety at both intersections on S.E. 27th Street.
