MIYFS offers parenting programs

Special to the Reporter

Mercer Island Youth and Family Services (MIYFS) will be offering local parents the opportunity to gain skills, connect with other Island parents and receive support from MIYFS counselors and staff through the new Parenting Mercer Island PARENT LAB programs.

The labs will be offered to parents in a series of four 90-minute interactive workshops and will be available based on school level/developmental level of the child: elementary, middle and high school. Parents and caregivers can attend all four sessions or choose topics that are of interest.

The labs will be based on the content in the recently launched Parenting Mercer Island online tool (www.parentingmercerisland.org). The workshops will utilize the Parenting Mercer Island five-step parenting process as a foundation for learning.
