Mirya Muñoz-Roach, executive director of The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Seattle/King County, will discuss “Meeting Our Neighbors at their Point of Need” at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s meeting on Jan. 21 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center, 8236 SE 24th St.
The main meeting begins at 12:30 p.m.; socializing is from noon to 12:30 p.m. Guests are always welcome and there is no fee to attend. A catered lunch from Pogacha is available for $25, or attendees can bring their own meal.
According to a Rotary statement, “King County’s homelessness crisis has exploded and it’s at our doorsteps. King County’s crisis response line 2-1-1 directs more calls to St. Vincent de Paul Seattle/King County than to any other agency. Join us and learn how SVdP meets our neighbors at their point of need (for over 100 years), preventing homelessness and addressing barriers to self-sufficiency on Mercer Island and across King County.”
