The Mercer Island baseball team earned it’s second win in a row on Wednesday night, beating Juanita 9-5.
The Rebels started off with a three run lead in the top of the first inning after error and three hits gave the team an edge.
In the end of the third inning the Islanders earned seven runs off of four hits and three errors to take the 7-3 lead from the Rebels.
Juanita added another run in the fourth inning, but the Islanders would go on to add two more before the end of the game.
Mercer Island pitcher Chris Lawler was credited with the win after pitching for six inning, Alex Himstead closed the game in the final inning for the team.
The baseball team continues play this week with a home game against Mount Si on Friday night. Game time is 6 p.m. at Island Crest Park.
The Rebels will host Sammamish on Friday in a 4 p.m. game at Lee Johnson Field in Kirkland.
