A longtime tradition, All Island Band Night will feature the 700-member Mercer Island grade 5-12 band program tonight during halftime at the Mercer Island football game, Friday, Oct. 18.
The Islanders will be taking on the Liberty Patriots at 7 p.m. In addition, it’s Senior Recognition Night, so once again the ticket line might be long. The ticket booth opens at 5:30 p.m.
Preceding the game is the not-to-be-missed ‘Pizza Pig Out’ in the MIHS Commons. Bring the whole family to have pizza, listen to outstanding jazz groups and support the band. And, most importantly, get good parking for the game. Game tickets will also be sold in the Commons.
All funding from the Pizza Pig Out goes to the Mercer Island music program, and it is the sole source of funding for the marching band camp in August. These funds support the hiring of marching and music coaches as well as the purchase of materials, and keep the camp free for all students.
