Former Island resident Thomas Gill, a social worker who counseled children with autism, was sentenced to five months in jail on May 8 after pleading guilty to sex crimes involving a 15-year-old male patient.
A Superior Court Judge suspended Gill’s sentence from two years behind bars on condition that he receive sexual deviancy treatment.
Gill, 63, was charged last year with indecent liberties and communication with a minor for immoral purposes after he and one of the autistic teenagers he was counseling were found naked in his Mercer Island home. The state Department of Health issued an emergency suspension of Gill’s social-work license after the charges were filed.
The victim is a resident of Shoreline whom Gill was counseling through the Attachment Center Northwest in Kirkland.
