Josh Radman and Paula Celine Trepman, Mercer Island High School seniors, have been named the “Islanders of the Month” for February by the Rotary Club of Mercer Island.

Josh Radman and Paula Celine Trepman, Mercer Island High School seniors, have been named the “Islanders of the Month” for February by the Rotary Club of Mercer Island.

Radman is the senior class president at MIHS, where he is the business manager of The Islander student newspaper, a baseball player on the varsity team, BRIDGES leader and a Natural Helper peer counselor. His community involvement includes volunteering with the Washington Community Alliance for Self-Help (CASH) and RESULTS Seattle Eastside Chapter. He also participates with the B’Nai B’rith Youth Organization. In his spare time, he plays racquetball and pingpong. He is the son of Eric and Renee Radman.

Trepman is a violin sectional leader in the symphonic orchestra at MIHS, where she is a member of the cross country junior varsity team who won the Athlete of the Meet Award. An AP Scholar, National Merit Commended Scholar and “Islander Hero,” Trepman serves as the president of the YMCA Mock Trial Program and also participates as a trial lawyer. She is the president of the Interact Club, affiliated with Rotary, and volunteers with middle schoolers as a mentor with the Summer Volunteer Program, organized by Mercer Island Youth and Family Services. As a sophomore, she won the Gold Star Award for over 100 hours of community service with the Youth and Family Services VOICE program. In addition to interning at the University of Washington Department of Genome Sciences, Trepman works as a teaching assistant at the Frankel Religious School through Herzl-Ner Tamid, tutoring elementary and middle school students in Hebrew, Jewish prayers and holidays, and Bar/Bat Mitzvah preparation. She is also enrolled in culture and language classes at Hebrew High School. In her spare time, she plays with the Seattle Youth Symphony Orchestra and attends classes in ballet, tap and jazz dancing.

Radman and Trepman are both members of the Senior Service Club and National Honor Society at MIHS.
