The College Tutors at Mercer Island Learning Center are holding workshops for students as they prepare to go back to school.
The first is College Tours and Interviews: Tricks of the Trade, a 90 minute presentation filled with information and strategies designed to help students gain confidence with the campus visit and admissions interview process, on July 25 at 10 a.m.
The second is The Fit: Finding the Best College for You, a 90 minute workshop presented to students to assist in narrowing down the college search, on Aug. 1 at 12:30 p.m.
Both college workshops cost $75 per student plus one free test prep tutoring session with registration.
In August, College Tutors will also offer Study Skills workshops for middle and high school students. The workshop session will focus on effective study habits, note taking skills, time management, active listening, critical thinking and study systems. These will be held Aug. 7 and Aug. 15, with the middle school session at 9:30 a.m-12 p.m. and the high school session at 12:30 p.m.-3 p.m. The cost is $25 per student.
