Humbled by response to band needs

We are very grateful that we live in such a generous community. We would be humbled anytime to witness the open-hearted response that Mercer Islanders have made to the need of our wonderful Mercer Island High School band for new uniforms. But to see it in these current trying times speaks volumes for the value that our community places on its children and their education.

We are so pleased to announce that, thanks to gifts large and small from individuals and from organizations, we are 75 percent of the way toward our goal of $129,000 to fully outfit the band. We are amazed by donations from band alums, band alum parents, current band families, football alums, community members, community groups, high school clubs, PTAs and many others. Thank you, Mercer Island!

We are still gratefully accepting donations. If you haven’t had a chance to do so, please consider giving a gift to the Mercer Island High School ASB – Band Uniform Fund. Checks may be sent c/o Pottmeyer to 6207 Island Crest Way, Mercer Island, WA 98040. Donations of $450 and above received by April 1 include the placement of a tribute label in a uniform. You can also go to our Web site, mihsband.com, for additional information on how to help color the plume maroon.
