Mercer Island eighth grader Claire Mansfield is a member of the Friends of Hoop Blue basketball team, which recently traveled to the End of Trail tournament in Oregon City, Ore.

The team beat a group from Oakland, Calif. to win the tournament, and Mansfield was named the tournament MVP.

The Blue team also won the Best in the West tournament in Yakima earlier this spring, with Mansfield scoring an average of 15 points per game.
