CAR THEFT: A motorcycle, valued at $3,000 was stolen out of a carport Thursday afternoon between 11 and 11:15 a.m. The keys were on the bike when it went missing.
CAR PROWL: Between 11 p.m. Wednesday night and 6:30 a.m. the next morning, nine vehicles were prowled overnight in the Aviara parking lot. Some vehicles were unlocked, others had been forcibly broken into, usually through a shattered front window. Possible surveillance video was retrieved from the scene. Among the items stolen were a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses, $60-80 in Canadian currency, a U.S. Passport and two D.J. turn tables.
CAR THEFT: Between 4:45 p.m. Wednesday and 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, somebody attempted to steal a Ford Truck that belonged to a 32-year-old Island woman, parked in the Aviara lot. The ignition switch was damaged, as well as the door’s keyholes.

THEFT: An Island man had his bike locked on the bottom floor of a parking garage, linked to a pole several other bikes were attached to. He last saw it on Sunday, June 8 and reported it missing on Saturday, June 14. The bike, lock and cable were all taken. He estimated losses of $500.
THEFT: Sometime between 6 p.m. on Friday, June 13 and 7 a.m., Saturday, an Island family reported its water trampoline stolen. It had been docked at a residence in the 7400 block of S.E. 71st St. and was valued at $2,700.
FRAUD: A 57-year-old Island woman reported her identity was stolen. The suspect reported an address change so as to have a credit card from her business account sent to his address.
SUNDAY | 15
TRAFFIC OFFENSES: A 39-year-old man from Graham, Washington was stopped for a lane control violation. He was found to be driving with a suspended license and four failed appearances in court. The driver was transported to Issaquah Jail.
THEFT: Just after midnight, early Sunday morning, a 40-year-old Mercer Island woman was found unloading QFC property into her trunk when the store was closed. She dropped the patio set and two chairs she was holding, and fled the scene when confronted by the store manager, though he was able to snap photos of her license plate in time. A license plate check produced the identity of the subject. She was positively identified by witnesses.
FRAUD: A 74-year-old Bellevue man said that his credit card was used without his permission. About $116 worth of items were purchased on the account.
DEATH INVESTIGATION: A 49-year-old Mercer Island man expired under a doctor’s care on Monday, between 7 a.m. and 8 a.m.
MONDAY | 16
MARINE: Marine Patrol responded to a vehicle submerged in the lake at the Newport Boat Launch. The vehicle and trailer accidently sunk when the reporting party was attempting to recover his boat. Divers and lift bags were required to raise and recover the vehicle.
WARRANT ARREST: On Tuesday, police arrested an Island man for driving with a suspended license and a warrant in his name. The suspect was booked into King County Jail.
FORGERY: A woman from Orting, Washington dropped off prescriptions for another individual. The prescription was verified as forgery and the suspect was confirmed to have a history of forgery.

CAR THEFT: A 34-year-old Island man said his motorcycle was stolen from a secure parking garage in the 7600 block of S.E. 27th St. The bike was valued at $6,000.
WEDNESDAY | 18
TRAFFIC OFFENSE: A vehicle stopped after a department of licensing check was found to have a suspended license and to have failed to appear in court on two occasions. The Tacoma man was arrested, processed and released by the Mercer Island Police Department.
