The Mercer Island High School Senior Service Club will host a blood drive on Friday, April 18 in the West Gym. The event is open to the public and will last from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with a break from 10:30 a.m. until 11:15 a.m.
Anyone who is at least 18 years old, in good health, weighs at least 110 pounds and meets other requirements may donate. Student who are 16 or 17 years old and meet the same conditions may donate with a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian.
“Our students are exhibiting strong leadership by hosting a blood drive at Mercer Island High School on Friday, April 18, in light of the tragic landslide in Oso that claimed so many lives,” said Mercer Island School District Superintendent Dr. Gary Plano. “Donating blood saves lives and our students know that this is a great way our community can make an impact throughout the region.”
Appointments can be made online, but are not required.
