The Mercer Island School District has announced it has filled the new elementary associate principal position. The position will be filled by Aimee Batliner-Gillette, who will work with all three elementary schools beginning next fall.

“We are very excited to have Aimee here to support our three elementary schools,” said MISD Director of Human Resources Mark Roschy in a press release. “Her wealth of knowledge and experience is especially important in supporting our elementary principals with the enormous student loads at each building.”

Batliner-Gillette previously worked for the Tukwila School District as a literacy coach, and before that she was a trainer and coach for the Douglas County School District in Colorado. She has a master’s degree in English language arts from Regis University and a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, Boulder.

The MISD Board of Directors is expected to approve the appointment at the May 23 meeting.
