Regarding the city of Mercer Island’s settlement with Sound Transit, I am just wondering how $10 million is going to fix afundamentally flawed design? If any vehicle can’t access I-90 directly from Island Crest Way, then simply, the design isflawed. No amount of changes downtown will fix the lack of efficient access directly to I-90 from Island Crest Way.
The settlement does not address the core issue. The design no longer works for Mercer Island citizens, teachers, employees, commuters and services going on and off the Island.
