The Bellevue Youth Theater was built two years ago for $8 million. It holds an audience of 150. A smaller theater costs less. Also it means that to serve a given size audience (for example, say 500 people), it means there would be more performances, which means more experience for the kids. Scenery is less expensive for smaller venues, and lastly child actors can also be more clearly heard in a smaller venue.
Sounds like a win-win to me.
