Mercer Island is beautiful this time of year. The flowers in our downtown are outstanding and city staff works hard to make our landscaping look great. I would ask all candidates who want to place signs to not deface our flower beds in the business district, or at least wait until summer is over. Having signs out from only September to election day will not decrease your chances to be elected. Your fellow residents will appreciate your consideration.
