With a swirl of capes and many hoots of laughter, the south-end and north-end retail centers of Mercer Island were haunted by Mercer Island kids on Halloween afternoon.
Coordinated by the Mercer Island Chamber of Commerce, this is the fourth year that businesses have opened their doors to trick-or-treating. This year’s sponsors were College Nannies and Tutors, Great Clips and Wells Fargo Bank.
Over 70 businesses participated and displayed posters in their windows welcoming kids and their parents. Parents of younger children appreciate trick-or-treating in the daylight hours. Many parents report visiting businesses that they didn’t know before.
Participating businesses report back that they enjoyed seeing both parents and kids in costume and are looking forward to next Halloween!
