Grant helps drama program
The Mercer Island Community Fund (MICF) has generously provided the Mercer Island Schools Drama Boosters with a $2500 grant to aid in the production of “Little Shop of Horrors” by the award-winning MIHS Drama department. This classic comedy will be performed at the Performing Arts Center at Mercer Island High School on November 14-16 and November 21-23.
Each year, the high school drama program welcomes the entire student body of Mercer Island to audition for and participate in the school musical. While the cost of any show involves significant fees for costumes, props, marketing, and more, the cost to produce a musical is significantly higher. This grant from MICF will go a long way to producing a quality performance that Islanders young and old will be sure to enjoy!
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to MICF for recognizing the crucial role of arts education in balancing the rigor of more traditional academic subjects. We also applaud the organization’s continued support of community-building events in Mercer Island.
We welcome you to join us for our upcoming production. You can purchase tickets here or at www.MISDB.org.
