Thanks to Mr. Jacobson for taking his ridiculous dog-walking ticket to court and to Judge Stewart for throwing out the case.

These two gentlemen have highlighted the fact that there is an anti-dog sentiment on Mercer Island that is making life increasingly difficult for dog owners.

How is it possible  to be anti-dog? Who are these people? Don’t they know that dogs are wonderful? In most cases, dogs are morally superior to human beings. Dogs enrich our lives beyond measure. They are unfailingly loyal, loving friends.

There are bound to be a few irresponsible dog owners who don’t pick up after their dogs. These are the people who should be ticketed, not responsible dog-owners who are walking their dogs on leash.

Surely our police have better things to do than harass citizen dog walkers.
