Aren’t we fortunate that the tremendous amount of open space and natural parkland afforded us in Mercerdale Park was available for the myriad of activities and events scheduled during Mercer Island’s premium Summer Celebration last weekend?

However, this may be the last time if those leading a large private developer, Mercer Island Center for the Arts — aided and abetted by certain legacy council members — are allowed to erect a 35-foot tall building in our park.
