The Mercer Island Visual Arts League’s opening reception next week will feature a new exhibit, “Garden of Eden,” the art of the winners of MIVAL’s High School Scholarship awards and music by the RocknDoc.
The event will be from 5-8 p.m. on May 4 at the MIVAL Gallery.
The featured artist is Omar Chapa, whose fine art photographs feature images from gardens around the world: Japanese Garden in Seattle; Kew Garden in London; Luxembourg Garden in Paris; and Mercer Island’s community pea patch.
Chapa’s art will be hanging in the gallery from May 4-28.
On opening night, the gallery will also feature the art of Mercer Island chiropractor, Staten Medsker, who will be playing his acoustical guitar.
