Twenty-one Mercer Island High School band students were selected from a pool of applicants from around the state to perform with one of the Washington All-State Honor groups. They will represent MIHS in Yakima, Wash. at the Washington Music Educators Association state conference in February. The students submitted audition tapes and were selected in a blind audition. This is the largest number of Mercer Island band students ever to be selected to participate in one year. The students selected were:

Freshman Unica Le was also accepted into the All-State Treble Choir.
