The 22nd annual Ikebana exhibition will be held this weekend and the Mercer Island Community and Events Center.
The Flowers of the Future event, which runs Saturday and Sunday, will feature various displays and includes demonstrations. Ikebana is the ancient Japanese art of flower arranging.
The event starts Saturday, March 17 and run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., while Sunday will be open from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Demonstrations will take place both days at 2 p.m.
The event is put together, in part by the Sogetsu Mercer Island Branch.
For the last several weeks a sculpture, created by the Sogetsu Mercer Island Branch, has been on display at the Mercer Island Library.
