Some of the Art Walk participants include: Aljoya with a group showcase featuring 13 MIVAL artists. Realogics/Sothebys with “The Crowning Event,” featuring Mitch Dorsey Peterson. Clarke & Clarke Art + Artifacts with “Bold and Resilient,” a premier for artist Alexa Budd, and new works by Diana Grant, “Literal Juxtaposition.” Barrels Wine Bar features the return of Angie Chatalas. Coldwell Banker Bain features Julie Sanchez, Raleigh Nowers and Carol Whitaker. John L Scott features MIVAL’s high school scholarship winners and the Junior Art Show.
Budd is an emerging artist focused on abstract works in her own interpretation of the Zen Buddhist form “Enso” and the importance of being bold and resilient in the waves of life. Her textures canvases of plaster, latex and acrylics have dramatic color choices and represent her ability to be present in the moments of unexpected direction and yet focus on stillness.
Clarke & Clarke Art + Artifacts is also introducing Grant with new works from the collection of contemporary abstract paintings that reflect an energy, balance, color and movement in her collection.
