Sterling Realty Organization (SRO) and the Danz Foundation have agreed to be the lead donors for the Inspiration Playground Capital ‘PLAY FOR ALL’ Campaign with a $300,000 contribution. The announcement was made on April 9 during the Rotary Club of Bellevue’s weekly meeting.

The Rotary Club of Bellevue is in charge of coordinating the $4.3 million Inspiration Playground capital campaign. The club has partnered with the City of Bellevue to help fund and build a truly inclusive outdoor play environment at the Bellevue Downtown Park.

The club believes that children of all abilities deserve to play, socialize and imagine together and to reap the many benefits such activities bring.

But for the growing number of children with disabilities in our area, including those with sensory deficits, most playgrounds aren’t fully accessible or can’t accommodate their needs.

The new Inspiration Playground will have a universally accessible design and feature sensory-rich play experiences and equipment suitable for all ages and abilities. Providing opportunities for all kids to socialize and play together not only provides much needed exercise and unstructured fun, it also helps build understanding and acceptance.

An estimated 600 supporters of Bellevue Rotary will gather together at the Meydenbauer Center on Saturday, May 11, raise funds for this year’s beneficiary, Inspiration Playground and the Bellevue Rotary Foundation during its annual Foundation Auction.

In a press release the club stated that this is an opportunity for the entire community to come together to build a destination play space and with the community’s support, the Inspiration Playground will provide a welcoming place for active and inclusive outdoor fun.
