Boaters safe after vessel catches fire on Lake Washington

While conducting a joint patrol with the U.S. Coast Guard Station Seattle on Saturday, Mercer Island Police Department’s Marine Patrol Unit responded to a boat engulfed in flames on Lake Washington. The occupants are safe and jumped into the lake to avoid the fire. The fire was quickly extinguished before the boat was towed to shore.
