Police successfully apprehended a burglar after he attempted to rob a disabled Island senior on Feb. 3.
According to the police report, the woman, who lives on Lindley Road, dialed 911 after she heard somebody try to open the doors of her back deck.
Shortly before trying to enter the household, the suspect had run the woman’s doorbell numerous times. While on the phone with police, the victim heard what sounded like rocks being thrown at her windows.
Officers arrived at the scene shortly and found that a small ladder had been used to break the backdoor window in an attempt to access its interior handle and lock. Police saw the suspect trying to flee the residence through bushes in her backyard and apprehended him. He was headed toward his vehicle.
The soles of the suspect’s shoes matched the prints found on the victim’s deck. The same prints were also discovered on the deck of a nearby residence. The suspect, who is a 45-year-old male from Seattle, was arrested and booked into the King County Jail.
