Join Mercer View Elementary alumni this weekend to reminisce over playground pastimes, lunchroom laughs and classroom chaos of yesteryear.

The Community Center at Mercer View is on the former grounds of Mercer View Elementary, which closed about 30 years ago.

The reunion will kick off on Friday, August 20 at the Roanoke’s “Garden Area” from 6 to 11 p.m.

The following day, August 21, gather with alumni, staff, teachers and Mercer View Elementary fans at a potluck-style barbeque in Luther Burbank Park. Reunion organizers will fire up the grill at noon.

The potluck is described on the reunion Facebook event page as a casual event, “No frills but a ton of thrills.” BYOB, a dish to share, old photographs or mementos, a camera to capture the new memories, a frisbee, etc…
