A transient set up camp next to a vacant house in the 2900 block of 76th Ave. S.E. The owner of the property, a 53-year-old man, searched the tent and found a compound bow, arrows and a .22 rifle with ammunition, which he turned over to Mercer Island police.

Accident: A 25-year-old man drove off the road and struck a tree at 3:30 a.m. in the 8400 block of North Mercer Way. He was on the way to his girlfriend’s Shorewood apartment when he passed out. The last street he remembered being on was Gallagher Hill Road. He went off the road on a curve after passing the turnoff to the Shorewood apartments. He said that he had passed out in the Rite Aid parking lot two days ago and had been treated by the Mercer Island Fire Department. His vehicle was towed from the scene, and he was taken to a hospital.

Lost: A 21-year-old Mercer Island woman residing along East Mercer Way lost her Korean passport sometime after Sept. 16.

License plate theft: Police stopped a vehicle at 4:44 a.m. in the 2800 block of 78th Avenue S.E. after police ran a license plate check that linked the number to a stolen plate. The vehicle did not have a front license plate, and the driver had a proof that he purchased the vehicle in July. The front plate had been stolen in June. Police removed the rear plate after instructing the driver to get new license plates.

Malicious mischief: Someone keyed a Toyota Camry between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. outside of the South end QFC in the 8400 block of S.E. 68th Street.

Theft: A 44-year-old man living with his parents stole household items and pawned them off. The suspect admitted pawning a gas generator and jewelry. The jewelry was pawned on four separate occasions in June and July. The total value of the stolen items was unknown. The suspect has been booked into the King County Jail.

Saturday | 21

Arrests: Police arrested an 18-year-old young woman who was not wearing a seatbelt at 1:16 p.m. on East Mercer Way. Police stopped the vehicle due to the seatbelt violation and arrested the woman, a Bellevue resident, on an outstanding warrant for reckless driving. A 20-year-old man was also involved. She was booked into the Issaquah Jail.

Police arrested a 30-year-old man at 3:51 p.m. during a traffic stop in the 8200 block of S.E. 24th Street. The man had a misdemeanor warrant.

A 20-year-old man was taken into custody at 11:39 p.m. and booked into the Issaquah Jail on a misdemeanor warrant.

Sunday | 22

Arrest: Police arrested a 19-year-old man at 3:01 a.m. in the 7000 block of S.E. 24th Street during a traffic stop. The driver, a 22-year-old woman, was a petitioner in a domestic violence no-contact order. The passenger gave multiple false names at first, and was arrested for the order violation. He was booked into the Issaquah Jail.

Car prowl: Two sets of keys were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle between 1 and 2:45 p.m. in the Homestead Field parking lot, in the 8100 block of S.E. 40th Street. Someone took the vehicle manual out of the glovebox and set it on the rear seat. The victim found a paper yard recycling bag in the back of his vehicle, with a piece of plywood, tar paper and pieces of wood. Keys were stolen out of the storage box above the stereo console.

Monday | 23

Car prowl: An unlocked Chevrolet Tahoe was entered at night in the 4200 block of Shoreclub Drive. A set of golf clubs, Bluetooth speaker and $5 in spare change were stolen. The total estimated loss was $1,050.

Arrest: A 31-year-old man was taken into custody at 7:55 p.m. on a misdemeanor warrant. He was booked into jail.

Theft: Three bags belonging to a 20-year-old Mercer Island man were stolen out of the library in the 4400 block of 88th Ave. S.E. The bags contained a passport, Macbook and clothes.
