Greg Asimakoupoulos will read excerpts from his newly published volume of poems, “Sunday Rhymes and Reasons,” this Sunday, Oct. 4, at Island Books. The book is comprised of poetry that “celebrates faith, welcomes doubt, acknowledges the predictable passages of life and points to God … intended for pastors, leaders and other imperfect saints,” Asimakoupoulos, the pastor of Mercer Island Covenant Church, writes in the introduction. Divided into five sections — Sundays, Weekdays, Special Days, Holidays, Holy Days and Bible Days, the book has garnered praise from recording artists, radio hosts and politicians alike.

The reading and book signing will take place from 2 to 4 p.m., this Sunday, Oct. 4, at Island Books, located at 3014 78th Ave. S.E.
