The Mercer Island City Council is looking for Island residents interested in serving on several of the city’s boards and commissions.
There are currently four positions on the Arts Council, two positions on the Design Commission, two on the Planning Commission and several for the Youth and Family Services advisory board. Those include four adult positions for three-year terms, three positions for current eighth grade students and three for current 10th grade students, all in two-year terms.
Appointments are made by the mayor and affirmed by the City Council. Terms typically run from June 1 through May 31 for a four-year period. After being appointed, board members will spend approximately 10 hours a month serving on the board, but the level of commitment may vary.
Applications are due by Wednesday, May 4.
