Coldwell Banker Bain will be moving its corporate headquarters to Bellevue from Mercer Island this month. The move will not affect the number of employees at the office, said Managing Vice President Ron Sparks.

“All of our positions will move to the Bel-Red Road facility,” Sparks said, adding that the move was based on spacing needs. “We’ll pick up about 1,600 additional square feet. It’s sorely needed, as we’ve been growing.”

The fact that the Mercer Island Coldwell Banker Bain office, located in the Island Corporate Center on S.E. 24th Street, ends its lease in October is also a contributing factor for the move. The company owns the two-story Bellevue building. Currently, there is a Coldwell Banker Bain branch office in the building’s first floor, and the Escrow Mortgage Company resides in the second floor. The branch office will be condensed into the Bellevue Way branch, Sparks said, providing room for Mercer Island employees.

“This will help condense companies so we have better synergy,” Sparks said.

The company will begin moving this month and hopes to be fully relocated by October. Sparks did not mention how the move would affect company costs.

Coldwell Banker Bain’s corporate headquarters have been on Mercer Island for more than 10 years. The company has branches as far north as Everett and as far south as Portland, Ore.
