The Eastside Pipes and Drums band is a traditional bagpipe and drum band comprised entirely of local firefighters, including Mercer Island’s own firefighter Mark Givens. The band will practice at the North end station through August. The public is encouraged to listen on Wednesdays between 11 a.m. and noon when the full band will play together. Islanders who choose to stop by are asked to keep the front of the station clear so that on-duty firefighters can respond to emergencies without delay.
