Do good. Be kind.

That will be one of myriad key messages at Friendship Circle of Washington’s 12th annual Walk with Friendship and Community Kindness Day from 2-5 p.m. on Sept. 29 at the Mercer Island Community and Event Center.

The free fun-filled family festival will feature acts of kindness, entertainment, carnival games, a grill competition, cake walk, family relay race, family resource fair and more. The 1K walk is open to individuals, community groups, corporate teams, and local businesses.

“This year’s walk invites teens, family, and community to share acts of kindness, furthering the Friendship Circle’s mission of friendship and inclusion,” reads the organization’s web site.

Participants will have the option to participate in a food drive for Jewish Family Services, writing letters for senior care communities and other meaningful activities aimed at spreading joy and making a positive impact on those in need.
