Don’t forget to get a boater education card

As the weather gets nicer and warmer, residents are reminded to get their Washington State Boater Education Card.

As the weather gets nicer and warmer, residents are reminded to get their Washington State Boater Education Card.

The card is required when operating motorboats with 15 horsepower or greater (including personal watercraft or any motorized watercraft.

To get a card, boaters need to take an approved boater education course, either in the classroom, online or at home. Complete the Boater Education Card application, along with a $10 payment and send those along with a legal copy of your proof of completion.

Courses are going to be offered in Bellevue on Saturday, May 19 and June 9, at the Bellevue Fire State No. 9, located at 12412 S.E. 69th Way. Both days the course runs from 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. To learn more or to register contact Terrence Hooper at 425-885-0259 or via email at hoopcgaus@gmail.com. The cost is $30.
