Through a partnership with the Mercer Island Youth and Family Services, the Department of Social and Human Services (DSHS) is bringing its Mobile Office truck to the Island from 1-4 p.m. on Feb. 5 in the Mercer Island Community and Event Center parking lot. The free Hopelink Mobile Market will also be on site.
The DSHS truck is wheelchair accessible and provides hearing-impaired access as well as language interpretation services. The mobile office increases community access to state and federal programs and provides consultation to individuals, seniors and families to identify need and program eligibility. This includes SNAP/EBT food assistance (day of approval and card provided), reduced or free ORCA cards (day of approval and card provided), and initial application for multiple programs.
No appointments are required for the drop-in, first come first-serve service.
DSHS brought its truck to the Island in December and will visit MI again from 1-4 p.m. on April 2.
