The reigning 3A state champion Cleveland Eagles survived the Mercer Island girls basketball team in a 78-75 double-overtime win during the 3A district quarterfinals Tuesday at Bellevue College. The Eagles pulled away after a layup from Cleveland’s Aqeelah Williams sent the game into double overtime.

Anna Luce led the Islanders in scoring with 26 points, while Jess Blakeslee had 16 and Taylor Krause had 13. The Islanders will take on Lakeside in a lose-out game at 4:45 p.m. Friday, Feb. 20 at Bellevue College.
