Robin and Stephen Boehler announce the engagement of their daughter, Emily, to Elan Shapiro, son of Raquel Shapiro and Gary Shapiro of blessed memory. The wedding will take place on Aug. 1, 2010, at The Golf Club at Newcastle.

Ms. Boehler is the granddaughter of Winfield Boehler, of New York, and the late Jane Boehler, and the late Sheldon and Zelda Hamroff. She is a graduate of Mercer Island High School and holds a Bachelor of Science in early childhood education from the University of Vermont. She is a teacher at the Stroum Jewish Community Center.

Mr. Shapiro is a graduate of Newport High School. He holds a Bachelor of Science in communications from Washington State University. He works as the recruiting manager at Revel Consulting. His grandparents are Genia Guberek, the late Bernard Guberek, of Colombia, Sol Shapiro, of Seattle, and the late Yetta Shapiro.

The couple resides in Bellevue.
