I am supporting Rich Erwin for City Council. As a proud Mercer Island resident with a long history of community involvement, Rich is well-versed in the issues facing our island.  Currently chairing the Mercer Island Design Commission, Rich is involved in all critical Island development projects. He is known for getting results and, on land use issues, for consistently balancing development needs with sustainability goals.  Working 26 years as a Boeing engineer, Rich routinely uses his skills to solve complex problems.  We need his kind of smarts and “get it done” attitude on the council.

I have worked with Rich on school bond issues and board campaigns. I am impressed with his research and analysis, and his willingness to dig into an issue to understand it.  He listens to ideas and works to bring people together.  Rich will bring a collaborative presence to the Council, focused on outcomes and fiscal responsibility rather than taking sides.
