Mercer Island’s annual fall recycling event will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 17 at the south Luther Burbank parking lot.

The city’s regular spring event was canceled due to the pandemic, but it is now possible to safely hold the fall event with new COVID-19 protocols. Attendees are asked to wear masks and gloves and to pack their items so they can be removed quickly. Paper shredding will also be offered onsite, and discounted rain barrels and worm bins will be available for purchase (cash only).
