The Mercer Island Farmers Market (MIFM) is turning 8 this Sunday and is inviting Islanders to celebrate.

Since the summer of 2008, the Farmers Market has provided local farm-fresh fruits, produce and artisan Washington-made products from its vendor stands near Mercerdale Park.

A few special events are planned for the anniversary, including a MELT mac and cheese tasting event, a berry pie bake contest and a pie celebration with High 5 Pie. Attendees can also look forward to the annual market bag giveaway.
