Thirty students from Mercer Island’s French American School of Puget Sound (FASPS) recently visited Covenant Living at the Shores on Mercer Island skilled nursing residents. The-eighth graders pair up with residents for conversation and to provide fun while participating in enriching activities. The students play games, bring greeting cards and exchange goodie bags. This intergenerational program between Covenant Living and FASPS started in 2017 as a way to unite the different generations. The visits enrich participants’ lives and demonstrates that the young and older adults have a lot to offer each other in their communities. Courtesy photo
