Former Islander up for top honors at Food & Wine magazine

People to chose favorite by voting on line.

Islander native Chef Brian McCracken and his co-chef, Dana Tough are at the top of their game.

The pair have two successful restaurants in Seattle  (Spur and Tavern Law) and have racked up a list of impressive culinary honors.  This week the two have been nominated by the editors of the esteemed Food & Wine magazine as The People’s Best New Chef. The Best New Chef will be selected by readers ( Voting online) which ends at midnight this coming Tuesday night, March 1. 

Here are just some of the honors the pair have so far:  Nominated by editors of FOOD & WINE as People’s Best New Chef 2011. Rising Star Chefs, Star Chefs 2010. 2010 Innovation Award, Seattle Weekly. Nation’s Top 5 Rising Chefs 2010, Gayot. Spur: Food & Wine mag “Where to Go Next” list of the world’s top spots. Daily Beast: One of 10 Best New Restaurants of the Year, July 2010. Tavern Law: 25 Best Bars in America, GQ Magazine October 2010.  Top 5 Secret Hot Spots in the World, Worth Magazine March 2010.
