The blotter consists of officers’ accounts of crimes and other incidents in Mercer Island. Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
June 1
Found property: A Mercer Island city worker found a bike in a park in the 5800 block of Island Crest Way at 3:08 p.m.
Warrant arrest: Dispatch advised that the King County Sheriff’s Office arrested a subject on an MIPD warrant at 4:32 p.m. and would book them into Issaquah Jail.
Fraud: Suspects using the information of a victim in the 4200 block of Shoreclub Drive obtained credit cards from Bank of America. The incident was reported at 4:53 p.m.
Warrant arrest: A subject in SCORE Jail was rebooked on Mercer Island warrants at 6:23 p.m.
June 2
Burglary: An Island woman reported at 8:32 a.m. that a motor vehicle was taken from her garage in the 8400 block of SE 34th Place. It was unknown if the garage door was opened by the suspect or left open by the owner.
Prowling: A victim reported that their unlocked vehicle was unlawfully entered at 1:01 p.m. in the 2400 block of 81st Ave. SE. Nothing was damaged or taken.
Fraud: A victim in the 6500 block of 80th Ave. SE reported identity theft at 1:26 p.m. A Discover Bank Money Market account had been opened in the victim’s name.
Warrant arrest: A suspect was contacted and arrested on an outside agency warrant at 10:12 p.m. in the 7800 block of SE 30th St.
June 3
Burglary: A locked trailer inside a gated construction site in the 2700 block of 77th Ave. SE was burglarized overnight. A television was taken and the trailer door was damaged. Prints were available.
Another burglary: At 7:05 a.m. in the 2700 block of 77th Ave. SE, someone reported that a shipping container had one pry mark next to the lock on its door, but there was very little damage and no entry was made.
Third burglary: A homeowner in the 5300 block of E. Mercer Way reported at 4:07 p.m. that he found his garage door open and two boxes of plumbing tools were taken. There was no forced entry and the garage did not look rummaged through.
Theft: At 4 p.m., a woman reported that $300 was taken from her wallet while she was at work in the 9400 block of SE 36th St.
Stolen car: A vehicle was stopped for a traffic infraction at 2:44 p.m. in the 7200 block of N. Mercer Way. The vehicle was found to be a possible unreported stolen car, and was impounded for further investigation. The driver and passenger were identified and released. The car was later confirmed to be an SPD stolen.
