Marc Gearhart, vice president of development of RYAN Companies, will speak at the Rotary Club of Mercer Island’s Nov. 3 meeting. He will discuss the future of the Farmers New World building.

In a May 2020 press release, RYAN stated that: “We understand the importance of the former Farmers Insurance property for the Mercer Island community given its size and location adjacent to the Mercer Island Farmers Market and Mercerdale Park. Our hope is to attract a tenant to the building that is a natural fit for the community. The investments we plan to make to this 1982 structure will modernize it for today’s office user, while keeping the existing form and character of the property in place.”
