The Mercer Island High School marching band, drill team and cheerleaders joined class floats in the annual Homecoming parade on Friday, Sept. 20. The parade began at Mercerdale Park, at the corner of 77th Avenue S.E. and S.E. 32nd Street.
A new MIHS press box and concession stand opened during the Homecoming football game, which Mercer Island won over the Lake Washington Kangaroos, 34-3.
The Islanders will play the Sammamish Totems this week. The game begins at 7 p.m., Friday, Sept. 27, at Sammamish High School.
