Boys golf

The Mercer Island boys golf team lost on Tuesday to KingCo conference foe Bellevue, during a home meet for the Wolverines. Bellevue won with a team score of 206, at Bellevue Municipal, while the Islanders had a team score of 219. Sammamish finished third with a 222 score and Liberty fourth at 232.

Girls soccer

The Mercer Island girls soccer team faced defeat during the first game of the season. The Islanders fell 1-0 to reigning 3A state champs Seattle Prep Tuesday at MIHS.

Prep’s Sarah Schwaegler scored an unassisted goal 23 minutes into the game.
