Oct. 6
REPORT: At 12:15 p.m. in the 7600 block of SE 27th St., an Islander reported that their contractor collected a $2,600 deposit with no intention of completing the work. The deposit was submitted April 2.
Oct. 15
ANIMAL COMPLAINTS: An off-leash dog attacked another off-leash dog at 5:45 p.m. in the 8400 block of SE 47th St. The case was referred to Regional Animal Services of King County officers.
Oct. 17
TOOL THEFT: Two construction containers were tampered with and one was broken into at 6:30 a.m. in the 2200 block of W. Mercer Way. Tools were stolen, for an unknown total loss.
Oct. 18
IDENTITY THEFT: An Island man in the 2400 block of 76th Ave. SE reported at 9:01 a.m. that someone withdrew money from an ATM in Chicago using a debit card with his account information.
GRASS IN THE GRASS: An Island man in the 3600 block of 73rd Ave. SE found a possible controlled substance in his yard at 6:23 p.m.
ARREST: Police arrested a subject with a local misdemeanor warrant at 6:07 p.m. in the 9600 block of SE 36th St.
Oct. 19
PROWLING: A vehicle was broken into while parked in a lot in the 9600 block of SE 36th St. at 6:07 p.m. A briefcase and a backpack containing the victim’s FedEx uniform and wallet were stolen, and his gas card was used in Bellevue shortly after the prowl.
Oct. 20
MISCHIEF: A mailbox in the 4100 block of W. Mercer Way was reported to be damaged and unlawfully entered at 8:33 a.m. An unknown amount of mail was missing. A second mailbox also appeared to be damaged, but police could not contact or identify the owner upon initial investigation.
THEFT: Vehicle prowling and theft were reported at 2:55 p.m. in the 3000 block of 81st Place SE.
Oct. 21
FRAUD: A credit card was opened using the personal information of a victim in the 9000 block of E. Shorewood Drive at 8:43 a.m.
HARASSMENT: A woman in the 2400 block of 71st Ave. SE reported receiving regular and constant anonymous phone calls at 11:03 a.m.
ORDER VIOLATION: Police arrested a subject at 5:57 p.m. in the 3900 block of 88th Ave. SE after stopping their car for a traffic violation. The driver was a respondent in multiple orders, and the protected party was in the front passenger seat. The driver was arrested and booked into SCORE Jail.
MENTAL: Police did a welfare check on a severely intoxicated person at 9:52 p.m. in the 7100 block of E. Mercer Way. They were taken to the Overlake emergency room.
Oct. 22
PROWLING: A vehicle parked in an unsecured parking garage in the 7700 block of Sunset Highway was prowled at 1:53 p.m. Several personal items were stolen, including a leather bag filled with accessories and two cardigan sweaters.
